RE: Company / Patent for sale - video banner technology
Posted By: Kon
Last time I checked the purpose of this list was not to accommodate sales pitches? I refer everyone to: http://www.ffii.org/index.en.html The 'patent' in question uses a technique of 'sniff and push'. Passing user information (no matter how unimportant) to a server amounts to nothing less than spyware. It is interesting to see how companies that are going under try to 'sell off' their patents, as if there is any value to them because a patent officer awarded the patent after no patent database hit was matched. If they were so valuable, the bankrupt company should be rolling in the dough. I call it like I see it... :-) Cheers Kon -----Original Message----- From: Craig Moehl [mailto:] Sent: Friday, February 06, 2004 11:12 AM To: StreamingMedia.com Advanced Subject: [advanced] Company / Patent for sale - video banner technology I believe this is quite topical especially after Dan's article on the site and on Acacia Research etc... Dan, please excuse me for blatantly making use of this forum to flog something, however whatever your views on Patents and intellectual property, a lot of vision, time and resources went into this technology and I would like it to have a new home. If nothing else it will hopefully fuel the current discussion on patents... I have been tasked with disposing of a company "Banner Stream Limited" or the patents owed by the company that are potentially very valuable. I have a limited time to do this, i.e. before the next stage of the patent lapses, so to keep this intellectual property alive someone will need to act quickly if they believe that it will be of value to them. It would suit anyone that uses video on their site or anyone with an ad-sales application involving video (are the big boys listening?) |
