Delivery Options For Live Video To Very Small User Base?
Hi,

Total noobie here, can anyone please advise me what my best options would be for delivering live video content from an event to a very small user base?

The user base will be 10 users or less, the live video will be in SD (not HD) and if possible I would like some type of access control so prevent unauthorised users accessing the live web stream.

I have looked at JustinTV and USTREAM etc and to get the access control, I need to use their premium services which comes out quite expensive.

Could I just stream this from a PC in some type of file sharing where I configure a router to allow the 10 users through the firewall to a file on the PC? Or, do I need to get it hosted by some type of CDN?

As I said above, total noob and clueless on how to go about this in the best manner. My requirements are to get good quality web streaming with access control to a very small user base at low cost.

I have reasonable hardware such as an i5 PC, Osprey capture card, camera and have downloaded a few software encoders but not installed them yet. The steps involving delivery to users is where I am clueless. The users will probably view mainly on a PC, possibly a mobile phone or tablet.

Thx
Alice
