Looking for a CDN/Webcasting provider

Looking for a CDN/Webcasting provider
Hi;

I'm trying to start a small-scale, live webcasting company that specializes in small personal events. I used to use Windows Media, but I've decided to switch to Flash, which my existing CDN doesn't support.

I've seen the list and there are a whole lot of providers out there, so I hoped I'd be able to get some feedback here & winnow down the list.

A lot of what I've seen out there have reasonably low per-gigabyte transfer fees, but typically like a $99/month "pay to be able to play" minimum fee. But while I'm getting off the ground, I'm mostly looking for a few webcasts per month, to 2-3 users, to demonstrate the system and concept. So initially I don't mind high per-use fees, as long as I don't have to shell out a lot of money per month until I get up and going.

Plus, reliability and service are an issue -- I've had some problems with my current provider, though I don't know if the problems are with the provider itself or the technology. That's more the subject of another post, but I had a lot of experience with doing a demo and having it work for a few minutes, then just freezing on one frame and stopping. Kind of embarrassing, and not sustainable for a business.

So any subjective, personal opinions regarding providers would be welcomed. I also want to do push rather than pull encoding, if that's a factor. I've just stumbled across this newish provider, called "SimpleCDN.com". I don't know anything about them, but they seem too good to be true. Does anyone have any experience/opinion about them?

Thanks,

Paul

RE: Looking for a CDN/Webcasting provider
Hello Paul:

I can recommend you a streaming solution which is very reliable. I was doing LIVE HD streaming on a website. Check for BlinkoTV , this is a professional broadcasting solution and you can have HD video quality. It's true that you pay a monthly fee for using it but at least is not freezing and you get a nice and clear image.
Try the free trial so you can see what it does before you decide.
