Flash Server
We are looking into building a Flash server that will provide live and on-demand streaming. How complicated is this going to be and what are the plus's and minuses on do such and endeavor. This server will be just for small traffic if we have the need for large capacity will use a CDN.

RE: Flash Server
Hello Abouldin,
Here is an article telling you more about the Flash technology used for live and on demand streaming: http://www.thehdstandard.com/hd-streamin...ing-flash/ .Basicly this will be the hosting part but you also need to think about the solution which allows you to stream your content. About the CDN: the idea of a CDN is to take the uploaded files, and distribute them to servers around the world, so when a file is requested it is served from the nearest/lowest latency server. The secondary benefit is that this also offloads some of the processing power from your server, to an entire network of servers - whose whole purpose is to serve your files as quickly as possible. __________________________________________________________ Catalin Professional Streaming Consultant |
