Hello!

I just wanted to share a type of service that I have been using.

It allows users to select music from different Genres from my hard drive and then output a play list to their favourite media player where the music will then stream.
It's like creating your own juke box!

Hello everyone:

I'm a co-founder at Marcellus.TV. We offer a SaaS platform for publishing video on the Internet. Our closed beta period ran from Sep 08 - Feb 09, and we're currently doing a revamp of our website and incorporating beta-feedback for when we go live in late May 09.

Obviously, we aren't the first in the white label video space, and worthy of mention are comparative services like Brightcove, Ooyala, and TheFeedRoom.

However, we do have the luxury of being an agile start-up with a team that has been dabbling with online video from 2000/2001.
Some of us are also former social media researchers at Berkeley, so I'd like to think that we bring a raw, unadulterated thought-process to online video.

--

I'm writing a series of blog posts on the online video space- the intent is to share what we know, and how we think, with others in the online video community.

The deeper intention is to stimulate some thoughts that would help everyone (ourselves included) understand the business of online video a little better.
We're less interested in a conversation about CPM Rates/Ad inventories, and more hip to a chat about how to correlate transactional/querying costs with tangible customer value(and THENCE talking about whether money needs to exchange hands).

Of course, what we think could be perfectly meaningless and irrelevant without ya'll chiming in.

So- would you, please?
We're going to try and keep this free-form, hence the choice of going with Blog Posts + Comments, as opposed to a Wiki.
I am happy to announce that today I launched my new blog, published
by StreamingMedia.com at http://www.businessofvideo.com

While outlets like these discussion lists are great for technical
resources and discussions, I wanted a place we could all talk about
the business behind all of this technology.

This new blog is yours just as much as it is mine. I welcome you to
send me topics you want to see discussed and I will post them on your
behalf with your name and company. I will also be happy to post
anything useful to the industry be it research, industry data,
networking events and new job hires. I look forward to your
involvement.
This is a multipart message in MIME format.

The DRM reduction is a mandate by the movie studios and has already been
circumvented via multiple means.

Having installed vista on 5 different computers now I've had no driver
issues either - if you're running 64-bit it's a different story however as
those are far more demanding.
Vista will not kill the Media PC if you're in indie developer unless you
enable some form of Digital Rights Management in your work. Depending on the
level of the DRM enabled, Vista may require newer signed hardware to play
it. Older monitors may not be certified and may not play DRM content.

Nightmare? Well if your hardware and drivers are up to snuff, understand
that DRM enabled HDDVD or Blue Ray media will play at lower resolution. I'm
not an MS basher, but this is probably one of the most backward
implementations of protection by reducing quality?

If a client requires some form of protection scheme, it could be
problematic. Vista's DRM does a thorough check of drivers and available
hardware before DRM content can run. Being that there are so few Vista
released drivers, early adopters may encounter glitches.

Sorry John, I work in Financial Services and don't have anything to do with
MS but have worked in media/video/computers for 25 years.

It runs well on older systems though not too old. RAM is the big thing -
I've got a TC4200 Tablet with 2GB running Vista Business that outperforms my
beast laptop with a T7600 processor and 3GB RAM in many tasks; this is
simply down to how much better Vista handles memory.

My Media Center box is also fairly high end to, so experiences on machines
>2 years old will surely vary J
Lol -

Sorry John, I work in Financial Services and don't have anything to do with
MS but have worked in media/video/computers for 25 years.

It runs well on older systems though not too old. RAM is the big thing -
I've got a TC4200 Tablet with 2GB running Vista Business that outperforms my
beast laptop with a T7600 processor and 3GB RAM in many tasks; this is
simply down to how much better Vista handles memory.

My Media Center box is also fairly high end to, so experiences on machines
>2 years old will surely vary J

Good luck!
sounds like you work in the PR dept of Microsoft! Never heard so many
compliments of a new product like your view of Vista. While respecting your
personal experience, I think I will wait till other chime in before making
any leaps. Also will wait for reality check of what Vista can't do...like
help 80% of people on 2 year or older PC's, etc. Does Vista mow the lawn?
I've used many solutions however have to say you get what you pay for.
Vista has demolished over open source approach I've tried in terms of ease
It's finally given me reason to retire my xbox media center which did a
Production Assistants Needed For SM WestEiren,

sounds like you work in the PR dept of Microsoft!

Will read expectantly about others experience with Vista and Media, and yes
hoping for good news and new digital performance.

Thanks,
